PRODUCT INFORMATION
Equipment Standard
Quality design, materials and workmanship combine to produce a quality product. Pumping system manifolds are corrosion resistant stainless steel weldments. Structural components like booms, boom rack and sub frame are made of heavy-duty tubular steel to ensure strength and reliability. Break Backs protect the booms if the operator hits an object while spraying. It is our intent to produce equipment that lasts for years and that is reflected in each De-Icer Pro unit made.

Break-Backs are designed to swing away in either direction.

Manufacturing Facility
The "assembly line" process is nonexistent at Batts, Inc. Because airport operators have requirements regarding layout and design, they demand a customized de-icing unit for optimum performance and efficiency.
Construction begins at one of two starting points - a new truck, or a used truck acquired from a different application. If a new truck is purchased, consultants at Batts Inc. can save customizing expense and help the customer select a truck that works efficiently for each operation (size, length of frame, etc.). Batts Inc. will also modify or customize a truck already in use so it will effectively do the job of de-icing and spraying.
During the installation process, great care is taken to see that each component fits perfectly and functions correctly. Necessary modifications are made to the truck chassis to accommodate the width of boom-rack section, length of booms, and the number of nozzles needed. The stainless steel or poly tank is installed and the unit is completed with wiring and the installation of computer control monitors and hydraulic pumping systems. The entire system is tested, completely disassembled then cleaned and painted while all parts are totally exposed. The vehicle is reassembled and thoroughly tested to insure all components are working properly.
