COMPANY INFORMATION
History
Each winter, airport operators face problems caused by snow and icy runway conditions. Lacking specialized de-icing equipment; in years past these problems have been handled ineffectively. Equipment used applied de-icing chemicals in a costly and haphazard manner. The high cost of deicing fluids and the equipment required to apply them were targeted as the main reasons why only a handful of airports used liquid chemicals. Converted fire trucks, fuel tankers, street washers, etc., were grossly over-applying fluids and raising costs to a point of poor economics.

1979 De-Icer Pro 2000

In 1979 Batts, Inc. began making Runway De-Icing equipment that regulated application rates in precise amounts. This system is called the Batts De-Icer Pro. Regardless of vehicle speed, units controlled rates as low as 0.4 gallons per thousand square feet, providing the ability for preventive Anti-Icing

1979 De-Icer Pro 4000

Technologies developed could monitor weather and runway conditions and predict what they were likely to be within a few minutes. This information along with controlled application rates allowed de-icing fluids to become a valuable tool in winter airport operations. Reducing the amount of chemicals used lowered costs and increased safety factors for landing conditions.

1985 De-Icer Pro 2000

The Batts De-Icer Pro is a unique runway de-icing and anti-icing sprayer system that works better than anything used before because it controls the application rate of de-icing chemicals precisely. De-Icing fluids stay where applied and go to work immediately compared to dry chemicals that blow away and require time to dissolve.
